What Matters the Most

When I watch a movie or read a book I often put myself in the main characters position. Today I went to see the movie 127 Hours. This a movie based on the true story of a guy who was trapped in a canyon while hiking. He told no one where he was going and he survived being trapped for 127 hours with minimal supplies. Throughout the movie he had flash backs of his life and the people he loved. He even used his video camera to tape a farewell message to his family. This movie made me think about my own life and the things that matter the most.

My world would be nothing without the friends and family who have loved and supported me my whole life. I hope that my loved ones realize how much they mean to me. Often we take those people for granted and we don't express our gratitude and love to them like we should.

The memories I cherish the most in life are the times I laughed until I cried, the silly moments I have had with my friends and family, and the times I have learned or accomplished something. I also cherish the memories of my childhood where traditions were made and friendships blossomed.

I value the life lessons I have learned so far. I have found inner peace with the people in my life who have hurt me. I have been able to live and learn from even the most difficult situations. Those situations and people have made me an even stronger person.

I hope that in my life I am able to leave a legacy of love, learning, and laughter. Growing up I wanted to have a career where I could impact lives. I chose teaching for that very reason. I want to leave my mark on the world. I hope that the students I teach look back on the year that we share together with fond memories.

Throughout life I will continue to grow and learn. The future is never certain. I hope that no matter what life throws at me, that I am able to stay true to myself and my beliefs. I will continue to take chances and live my life to the fullest!  :)

The Beginning of a New Adventure

I never knew that creating a blog could be so complicated! There are so many decisions and choices that need to be made. I will change the layout and background of this profile a million times until I find one that best represents me.

Currently I have chosen stars because I am a dreamer and because most of my posts will be written at night. :)

Choosing the title for my blog was a little easier. I wanted something that reflects my view on the world. Though I can't sing or play an instrument, I relate life to music. I think there is something amazing about the lyrics of a song, the pages of a book, and the scenes of a movie.

I enjoy writing. I think it's easier for me to express my thoughts to others in the form of a letter or poem.

I have attempted to start journals and diaries through out my life and I can never find the words to fill the pages. I found my writing to be boring and mundane. Who cares that I had a horrible day or that I went shopping?!

Like my life, my writing has to have a purpose. I have decided to give it another shot, but this time in the form of a blog. My hope is that it will make me more aware of my own thoughts and feelings about life. I have always been very real and honest with others, but I find it hard to be real and honest with myself.
