What Matters the Most

When I watch a movie or read a book I often put myself in the main characters position. Today I went to see the movie 127 Hours. This a movie based on the true story of a guy who was trapped in a canyon while hiking. He told no one where he was going and he survived being trapped for 127 hours with minimal supplies. Throughout the movie he had flash backs of his life and the people he loved. He even used his video camera to tape a farewell message to his family. This movie made me think about my own life and the things that matter the most.

My world would be nothing without the friends and family who have loved and supported me my whole life. I hope that my loved ones realize how much they mean to me. Often we take those people for granted and we don't express our gratitude and love to them like we should.

The memories I cherish the most in life are the times I laughed until I cried, the silly moments I have had with my friends and family, and the times I have learned or accomplished something. I also cherish the memories of my childhood where traditions were made and friendships blossomed.

I value the life lessons I have learned so far. I have found inner peace with the people in my life who have hurt me. I have been able to live and learn from even the most difficult situations. Those situations and people have made me an even stronger person.

I hope that in my life I am able to leave a legacy of love, learning, and laughter. Growing up I wanted to have a career where I could impact lives. I chose teaching for that very reason. I want to leave my mark on the world. I hope that the students I teach look back on the year that we share together with fond memories.

Throughout life I will continue to grow and learn. The future is never certain. I hope that no matter what life throws at me, that I am able to stay true to myself and my beliefs. I will continue to take chances and live my life to the fullest!  :)
